I'm running a small App called Talking Caller ID. It reads the caller ID from a computer modem, logs it and displays a pop up with the caller Info on the screen.
It also broadcasts that info to the entire workgroup on our network. this is accomplished through the windows Messenger Service (NOT! Microsoft Messenger) running on the XP clients on the network.
I cant seem to get this to come up on the Vista Clients and the messenger service is not included in Vista. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work? and is the message queueing service in vista a replacement for messenger service that came with XP

Messenger service has been removed from LH - applications relying on this are going to fail.

Hmm, I also use "Net send" from the command line to broadcast shutdowns etc to win XP pro clients on a large network. Net send is also missing from Vista, Is there any alternatives or versions of Vista that supports this "BASIC" function
